The concept of the Skepsi conference is to promote and further support the teaching and learning of creative and critical thinking in our classrooms and beyond, based upon the de Bono Thinking Systems. Using the English language as a platform, the aim is to equip Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) with practical approaches to classroom delivery grounded in the Six Thinking Hats and Cognitive Research Trust (CoRT) methods associated with Dr. Edward de Bono. Our colleagues from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) will provide an additional dimension in the form of best practices used in Australia which are also grounded in creative and critical thinking.
